If the San Gabriel Valley isn't on your radar, this week's spotlight will put it there. Directly east of the city of Los Angeles, the valley (SGV to its friends) is anchored by Pasadena, but also home to numerous smaller enclaves full of unexpected surprises, from natural wine to authentic Uighur food. SGV is one of the most diverse parts of California, which you'll see reflected most clearly in its dining offerings, but also in the wide variety of shopping and entertainment options. This week, we've enlisted an expert, local Chef Chris Yang, to show us some of his favorite spots in this inexplicably unheralded part of Southern California.
