Hello from Sunset Home & Design,

As a little holiday gift to you, we’re sharing a feel-good remodel story. (A phrase that any homeowner might think has never been written!)

This story has all the makings of a happy ending: First of all, it involves an old A-frame, which we all know is one of the most charming architectural styles around. Second, it takes place on an island—the postcard-perfect island of Orcas in Washington’s San Juans. And third, it involves friends and family pitching in on weekends in the spring and summer to restore this old, dilapidated A-frame kit house to all its glory, with energy efficiency, modern style, and a little more space to boot.
