Work/life balance is hard enough to finesse as an adult. So take a moment to appreciate the accomplishment of 17-year-old Annabelle Chang, who is currently juggling schoolwork and a career as a bookstore owner.

And it's not just any bookstore that she owns. Her Studio City, California, storefront, Annabelle’s Book Club LA, is the only bookstore in the United States focused on young adult literature.

Chang had a hunch that this genre, which she loves for its innovative storytelling and inclusive storylines, had achieved wide enough popularity to be a viable business model. The success of her cozy, welcoming, and, it must be said, very pink store proves she was right.
