I always like to take a little piece of a place with me when I travel.
Last week I descended into the Low Desert to the glitz and glamour of Palm Springs. I perused around the Uptown Design District, gazing through storefronts of vintage clothes and furniture. It was in the backroom of a thrift store, hidden between old air conditioning manuals that I found a January 1938 edition of LIFE magazine with a figure skater gracing the front cover. I knew the copy belonged in my collection of souvenirs.
Right now, traveling may feel different but the memories we have gathered in the form of stickers, postcards, and vintage finds can remind us of the times we dared to adventure. Even better, there are the memories we never meant to make, like accidentally catching a marriage proposal in the middle of Oregon. Whatever you may take home from your travels, let it remind you of the good times you had and the brighter times ahead.
Safe travels,
