This week, I'm excited to tell you about one of my favorite wineries, Ashes & Diamonds, which is based in Napa and has evolved the concept of what a wine-country tasting experience can be. It has one of the coolest visitors centers in the Valley: It’s modernist, with groovy mid-century furniture, art, and decor. It also has an extensive members program that’s pretty much a social/country club for the vinously minded.
They host regular dinners at which they serve a pillowy focaccia studded with rosemary that’s become famous among members for how indulgently delicious it is and for how well it goes with wine of any style. We were lucky enough to be invited into the L.A. home of the Ashes & Diamonds owners Kashy and Laura Khaledi for a peek at how they entertain. Surprise, surprise: They serve their amazing low-intervention wines, that pillowy focaccia, and other wine-friendly nibbles that are perfect for a casual warm-weather party to celebrate the arrival of spring.
