Hello from Sunset Home & Design,
It’s a fact: Guest bathrooms don’t get as much love as primary bathrooms. And it makes sense—the primary bath is one you’ll use the most, so of course you’ll spend more money and time in making it a space that’s stylish, functional, serene, etc.
But this guest bathroom in a San Francisco home might make you want to renovate that forgotten child (er, room) in your home. It wasn’t a complete disaster at the start—in fact, it was recently remodeled—but the new owners wanted the space to exhibit more of their personality and style.
“The rest of the home is designed with a lot more pattern and color, and we wanted to elevate the bathroom to the same level,” explains designer Christin Gregersen. “Since it was already a tight floor plan, we didn't move much plumbing, but we wanted to maximize functionality and storage.”
Christin and team took it down to the studs without messing with the footprint and dreamed up a space with an unlikely inspiration: a dress from a high couture fashion designer. The finished designed is so stunning and glamorous—see if for yourself.
